Artist- John Macpherson Fractals and Photographs

Picture form MOCA

John Macpherson is from Toronto, and he graduated from the Ontario university of Art & Design with a degree in Graphic Design.  His first degree was from Western University.  John still lives and works in Toronto, and ever since 2014 he has become more of a Pop Artist where he uses acrylic and oil paints, gesso, and gel mediums to create his art work.  the painting above was from his earlier times when he was a graphic design artist and had to create pieces that grabbed the consumers attention.  John liked to use photographs that pertained to everyday living and this is why I chose this piece because I liked the realistic approach to this photo.  This is another piece I would love to have in my home.  John liked to use art elements that helped bring out color and make the paintings pop.

  1. A definite "Pop" approach here... It would be nice to create our pieces this large and in oils!
