M O C A
Elena Lucia Constantinescu

The Artist says that she is a scientist. Born in Romania and a background in Physics she discovered the amazing possibilities of a computer to express her thoughts and feelings.
Her work has been presented only on online and on different specialized sites. Working many years in her micrographs lab, she has come to digital art. Most of her artwork are digital abstracts which contain in background or in layers, specific elements from electronic or light microscopic  images.

Working with the Ultra Fractals was pretty amazing. These are a couple of the things I created.

When researching artist on MOCA I came across Janet Parke. She started out as a dance teacher and a choreographer. But she has been a longstanding fractal artist. She was one of the first ones to master many fractal programs and UltraFractal.
The first one is called Web.
The second one is called Taupensky.

3D

Here is the outcome of my work using mandelbulb 3D. This program was fun to use. It opened my mind up to different possibilities. Approaching these art projects in a similar matter as a scientist would. Knowing that there is an infinite zoom and also infinite possibilities makes the creator feel powerful and small at the same time. All in all I feel my finished image has an other worldly vibe to it. Maybe even a bit of Led Zeppelin feel to it. Hope you enjoy.

Once I went back to the MOCA website the artist Thomas Demuth caught my eye. He is a 3D artist born in Germany in 1965 near Hamburg.  He uses 3d rendering software to create photo-abstract images based on polygon structures. He calls his style POLYGONISMUS.

This Piece is called DIE EINNAHME

This second one is called DAS ABENDMAHL 2

Artist- John Macpherson Fractals and Photographs

Picture form MOCA

John Macpherson is from Toronto, and he graduated from the Ontario university of Art & Design with a degree in Graphic Design.  His first degree was from Western University.  John still lives and works in Toronto, and ever since 2014 he has become more of a Pop Artist where he uses acrylic and oil paints, gesso, and gel mediums to create his art work.  the painting above was from his earlier times when he was a graphic design artist and had to create pieces that grabbed the consumers attention.  John liked to use photographs that pertained to everyday living and this is why I chose this piece because I liked the realistic approach to this photo.  This is another piece I would love to have in my home.  John liked to use art elements that helped bring out color and make the paintings pop.

Artist- The Late Skydancer

The piece above is called "STRUCTURE"

Born in 1939, Skydancer has long been an award-winning artist. Her style, she says, is whatever the moment calls for. She brings to computer art a dramatic array of talents and techniques. She can draw, paint, sculpt and more. She commands an impressive library of software tools, including Bryce, Painter, Photoshop, Poser, XenoDream (beta), Fo2PiX, and various modelers, plug-ins and filters to these programs. The following images were mostly rendered in Bryce, very often from art drawn or rendered in other programs and finally post-processed in Photoshop. Her ability to integrate the output of these various software programs is a hallmark of her work. Her art is spiritually-driven, and she is a student of Buddhism, the martial arts and shamanism. She says she draws with light.

I chose this peace because I really like art work I am finding that has a piece that stands out and the rest of the piece still.  I feel it really gives off a chic appearance.  I can really see this artwork hanging in my house.  The tones used are of my kitchen and dinning room.  I like the information presented on skydancer.  She was the type of artist that painted however she was feeling at the moment.  I am that type of person so I feel I can relate to the artist.  As the above paragraph quotes Skydancer is well rounded in many different soft wares.  The above piece majority was done in the software Bryce.  Skydancer passed away August 10th 2007.

Thomas Broadfoot III
Fine Digital Artist

As a self-taught digital artist, Broadfoot thrives on interpreting his ideas about our world and other worlds beyond. His work has been influenced by his love of sci-fi stories, history, politics, science, and current events. The process of creating images that exist nowhere on this planet but within his own mind he found to be a great joy.

Most of his images begin on a blank electronic canvas and expand layer upon layer.  Broadfoot has canvases, paint palettes, tools, and texture agents. No photographs are utilized in his digital paintings and he typically work from images in his mind. While the landscapes often remind viewers of places they recall, there is usually something intentionally otherworldly in his 3D virtual environments. Utilizing perspective, reflection, and transparency are important features of his work. Broadfoot’s current work investigates the themes of environmental devastation, surrealistic landscapes, and green issues.

Moca

I was browsing the different artists on the MOCA website when I found this image created by artist Adam Martinakis. Born in Poland and studied in Greece, Adam creates most his art using photos, digital, and 3d rendering programs. I found this image very appealing and a bit on the scary side. It has an almost sci-fi feel to it, which I really enjoy.

Fractal art

Creating the fractal art was a bit more interesting than previous exercises. I found it really interesting that there are infinite possibilities. The combination of the different gradients, layers, and unlimited zooms made for a unique experience. I made two that I really liked and made minor changes to them. Think of it as a before and after.

Artist Joel Mariano

Blue Anomaly
Heart of an Angel
Digital Art by Joel Mariano
Joel Mariano grew up in California's San Francisco Bay Area since the age of seven. At CalArts he experimented with real-time analog video synthesis, and computer graphics. It was here that he began to process many of his drawings with video and computer graphics. His experiments also involved percussive modulation of the image--a technique he is still experimenting with in today's 3D computer graphic and video imaging. He has been focusing on the unique visual consequences of computer graphic imaging as well as combining it with traditional hand drawings, videos, and photographs.  He cultivates the mysterious, the spiritual, and the magical notions of structure within abstract and stylized designs
